Apple Faces Lawsuit Over Wireless Patents Samsung Previously Infringed

By Editorial Team

Apple Inc. is facing a new federal lawsuit from Collision Communications Inc., alleging infringement of four patents that were at the core of a $445.5 million verdict against Samsung Electronics Co. in 2025.

The lawsuit filed in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas accuses Apple of infringing US Patent Nos. 7,463,703, 7,920,651, 7,593,492, and 6,947,505 with various iPhone, iPad, and Mac products utilizing 4G, 5G, and Wi-Fi technologies.

Collision Communications Inc.’s complaint mirrors the patents that a federal jury found Samsung had infringed in October with its electronic devices.

Apple has not yet responded to requests for comments on the matter.

This legal development highlights the ongoing disputes in the tech industry over intellectual property rights and patent infringements.
