By Editorial Team
A Nevada federal jury recently ruled in favor of lighting company Signify in a patent infringement case against rival Lepro. The jury found that Lepro owes nearly $411,000 to Signify for infringing on LED technology patents. The jury determined that three out of the six patents presented were infringed by Lepro.
Signify, a prominent player in the lighting industry, brought the lawsuit against Lepro over several LED technology patents. The patents in question included methods and apparatus for providing power to lighting devices, a light-emitting module, systems and methods for generating and modulating illumination conditions, and a method and a driver circuit for LED operation.
The case was heard in the United States District Court for the District of Nevada, with Judge Jennifer A. Dorsey presiding over the proceedings. The legal teams involved in the case included law firms such as Alston & Bird, Bond Schoeneck, Greenberg Traurig, Lex Tecnica, and ScienBiziP.
Following the jury’s verdict, Signify emerged victorious in its pursuit of justice for the infringement of its patented LED technology. The $411,000 award serves as a significant win for Signify and reinforces the importance of protecting intellectual property rights in the competitive landscape of the lighting industry.
