Pickleball Paddle-Maker Smacks 9 Rivals With Patent Suits

A pickleball paddle-maker has filed patent infringement suits against nine rival paddle-makers in five federal district courts days after it filed an action against the same companies and two others with the U.S. International Trade Commission seeking to block imports of the paddles.
The paddle-maker has taken legal action against companies including Adidas AG, with cases filed in the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, and U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
The patents in question are 12,357,891 for a game paddle and 12,465,826 for another game paddle.
Law360 reported that law firms K&L Gates and Thompson Coburn are representing the paddle-maker in these patent infringement suits.
This legal action comes as a strategic move by the paddle-maker to protect its intellectual property rights and prevent unauthorized use of its patented technology in the market.
