Skybound Hit With $4M IP Theft Suit Over ‘Stray’ Videogame

Skybound Game Studios is facing a $4 million lawsuit for allegedly stealing trade secrets and confidential information from video game designer iam8bit to negotiate a deal for the launch of the game “Stray” for the Nintendo Switch. The lawsuit claims that Skybound cut iam8bit out of the profits by going behind its back.

The lawsuit was filed in California state court and alleges fraud on the part of Skybound Game Studios. The complaint accuses Skybound of using iam8bit’s intellectual property without authorization to secure a publishing deal for “Stray” with a third-party publisher.
