By Editorial Team

An Israeli wireless power technology company has agreed to settle its suit alleging a Chinese electronics manufacturer infringed various power transmission patents, a move that came the day before trial was set to commence.

The settlement was reached between the Israeli company and the Chinese manufacturer, avoiding a potentially lengthy and costly legal battle in court.

The lawsuit involved allegations of patent infringement related to power transmission technology, specifically focusing on patents such as:

  • 8,626,461 – Efficiency monitor for inductive power transmission
  • 8,981,598 – Energy efficient inductive power transmission system and method
  • 9,006,937 – System and method for enabling ongoing inductive power transmission
  • 9,083,204 – Transmission-guard system and method for an inductive power supply

The legal teams involved in the case included law firms such as Fish & Richardson, Mayer Brown, Patton Tidwell, and Wilson Robertson & VanDeventer. The case was set to be heard in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

This settlement highlights the importance of protecting intellectual property rights in the technology sector and the potential consequences of patent infringement allegations.
