Eric Sutton manages the Java, Internet of Things, PeopleSoft, Enterprise Manager, BlueKai, Responsys, Datalogix, Eloqua, BigMachines, and Social Relationship Management patent portfolios as Senior Patent Counsel at Oracle in Redwood Shores, California. At Oracle, Eric also runs an inter-company patent quality study, which recently culminated in submissions to the USPTO as part of the Enhanced Patent Quality Initiative and an article published on IP Watchdog. For several years, Eric has also served as Adjunct Professor at Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he currently teaches Software Patents: A Practical Perspective. In addition to teaching his course in Chicago, Eric regularly presents on patent quality, efficient patent prosecution, portfolio management, and Alice-related topics.
