Kamrin MacKnight, J.D., Ph.D., is currently Chief Patent Counsel and Sr. Director of Intellectual Property at Codexis, with overall responsibility for managing the company’s entire intellectual property portfolio. She has more than 20 years of combined law firm and in-house experience in intellectual property counseling and transactions. She has prepared and prosecuted hundreds of patents, primarily related to biotechnology. Also, she has extensive experience with trademarks, as well as European oppositions, patent litigation, due diligence, IP, and general transactions. Before joining Codexis, she served almost seven years as Sr. Director of Intellectual Property and Sr. Patent Counsel at Genencor (Danisco), where she was responsible for various patent portfolios, including personal care, vaccines, fabric, and household care, animal nutrition, formulations, bioisoprene, as well as trademarks and transactional work. Prior to joining Genencor, she was a partner at Medlen& Carroll, where she was responsible for numerous clients and provided litigation support in major biotechnology and industrial patent cases.
