Polsinelli, a leading AmLaw 100 firm, has announced the strategic expansion of its intellectual property (IP) practice with the addition of three accomplished attorneys. Di Bianca and Jordan T. Riviello join the firm’s New York office as shareholders, while Kendall K. Gurule strengthens the Denver IP team as a senior associate.

Expanding Expertise in Key Markets

This strategic recruitment underscores Polsinelli’s commitment to providing clients with comprehensive and geographically diverse IP services. The new hires bring a wealth of experience across various sectors, particularly in the high-growth areas of mechanical engineering and medical devices patent prosecution.

  • Di Bianca and Riviello: These long-time colleagues arrive at Polsinelli with a proven track record of success. Their combined expertise focuses on intellectual property strategy and protection, with a particular emphasis on the medical device and high-technology industries. Their addition strengthens Polsinelli’s ability to serve clients in the crucial New York market, a hub for innovation and technology development.

  • Kendall K. Gurule: Gurule’s arrival marks Polsinelli’s second significant IP hire in Denver within a month. With a strong background in patent prosecution, trademark and unfair competition disputes, Gurule complements the firm’s existing capabilities in the region.

This strategic expansion aligns with Polsinelli’s recent focus on bolstering its IP practice across the country. The firm has made several key hires in recent months, including Brian Larivee, former Biogen in-house counsel, for the Boston office, and a nine-lawyer cybersecurity and data privacy team across its Birmingham, Raleigh, and New York locations.

Polsinelli Welcomes the New IP Leaders

Mark A. Taylor, Chair of Polsinelli’s Intellectual Property Department, stated: We are thrilled to welcome Di Bianca, Riviello, and Gurule to the Polsinelli family. Their deep legal knowledge, industry experience, and commitment to client service will be invaluable assets to our growing IP practice.

Di Bianca commented: “We are excited to join Polsinelli’s vibrant and collaborative IP team. The firm’s national platform and strong presence in key markets like New York will allow us to even better serve our clients’ needs.”

Gurule added: “I am impressed by Polsinelli’s commitment to innovation and its dedication to providing exceptional client service. I look forward to contributing to the continued success of the Denver IP team.
