Soji John is responsible for technology and licensing at Western Digital Corporation. He manages inbound and outbound patent licensing negotiations, works with internal and outside resources to evaluate patent claims, and supports litigation counsel in offensive and defensive efforts. He also supports WDC’s business units in developing IP strategy and assisting in M&A and JV efforts. He helps to align patent prosecution and acquisition strategy with business goals. Prior to WDC, Soji served as IP counsel at SanDisk Corporation’s primarily responsible for outbound licensing. Out of law school, Soji spent several years at Jones Day, primarily as a patent litigator. Licensed with the US patent bar, Soji has also prosecuted several patent applications and assisted in the reexamination of several patents. Prior to Jones Day, Soji spent a decade at Texas Instrument developing technology for RF baseband and power management products and developing TI’s RF-SiGe process node.
