Google Wins Trademark Suit Over 'Gemini' Branding

By Editorial Team

Google LLC has successfully defended its right to use the "Gemini" branding in connection with its AI platform, despite a legal challenge from a speakers-and-headphones company.

P2B Trading Co. sought to block Google from using the "Gemini" branding, alleging trademark infringement. However, the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida ruled that P2B Trading Co. failed to demonstrate a substantial likelihood that Google's use of "Gemini" infringed its trademark.

In a brief order issued on March 20, Judge Timothy J. Corrigan stated that while P2B Trading Co. had established a plausible case, it did not meet the threshold for proving trademark infringement. The court's decision also rejected Google's request to transfer the case to the Northern District of California.

As a result of the ruling, Google is permitted to continue using the "with Gemini" branding to promote its AI-powered products.

This legal victory allows Google to maintain its marketing strategy and branding efforts without interruption, providing clarity and stability for the company's business operations.
