Purpose

Local chapters create a trusted regional home for IP professionals to collaborate, convene, and build practical programming under the IIPLA brand.

Eligibility & Criteria

Applicants should demonstrate meaningful ties to the local IP community, the ability to convene members, and alignment with IIPLA professional standards.

Operational Guidelines

Approved chapters operate under IIPLA brand guidance, event standards, and reporting expectations with a defined annual activity plan.

Review & Approval

Applications are screened by the central team, moved into review, and may be approved, rejected, or sent back for more information after a governance review.

Requirements

  • A founding lead, a clear geographic scope, an initial operating plan, and a credible practitioner network are required before approval.

Expected Responsibilities

  • Chapter leads are expected to host programming, support membership growth, maintain professional standards, and submit periodic updates to IIPLA.
