Co-Diagnostics Partners with Saudi Firm to Launch Co-Dx™ PCR Platform Across MENA Region

Co-Diagnostics, Inc., a molecular diagnostics company headquartered in the United States, has announced a strategic collaboration with a regional manufacturing and distribution company based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). The two entities have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore the formation of a joint venture (JV) that will be licensed to develop, manufacture, and sell Co-Diagnostics’ intellectual property across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

The JV will focus on commercializing Co-Diagnostics’ portfolio, including the forthcoming Co-Dx™ PCR point-of-care platform, which represents the company’s latest advancement in molecular diagnostic testing technology. This initiative builds upon Co-Diagnostics’ existing success in KSA, where its Logix Smart® tests have established a significant market presence.

According to the terms of the MoU, the Saudi partner will contribute critical local operational support, including access to manufacturing infrastructure, personnel, and regulatory expertise. These resources are intended to facilitate the JV’s objectives of research, development, manufacturing, assembly, distribution, and commercialization of Co-Diagnostics products throughout MENA countries.

The partnership is designed to align with the strategic objectives of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, a national framework aimed at economic diversification and development. Co-Diagnostics anticipates that the JV will be eligible for government incentives under this initiative, which could enhance the venture’s operational and commercial capabilities.

Dwight Egan, CEO of Co-Diagnostics, expressed optimism about the collaboration, stating, “We look forward to the ongoing discussions with the KSA partner as we explore ways to expand our reach across this important region, for both our upcoming Co-Dx PCR platform as well as our existing suite of lab-based PCR diagnostic products.”

This JV model mirrors Co-Diagnostics’ operational approach in India, where it has established CoSara Diagnostics Pvt Ltd to manage local manufacturing and distribution. The company’s strategy emphasizes leveraging regional partnerships to enhance market penetration and regulatory compliance.

The expansion into the MENA region through this JV represents a significant step for Co-Diagnostics as it seeks to broaden access to its molecular diagnostic technologies. The Co-Dx™ PCR platform is expected to provide point-of-care testing capabilities that can improve diagnostic turnaround times and accessibility in diverse healthcare settings.

By combining Co-Diagnostics’ patented molecular diagnostic platform with the Saudi partner’s regional expertise and infrastructure, the JV aims to address growing demand for advanced diagnostic solutions in the Middle East and North Africa.

This development underscores the increasing importance of localized manufacturing and distribution partnerships in the global diagnostics industry, particularly in regions with evolving healthcare landscapes and regulatory environments.

As the JV progresses, Co-Diagnostics and its Saudi partner will focus on regulatory approvals, technology transfer, and scaling manufacturing capacity to meet regional market needs.

The collaboration is poised to enhance diagnostic capabilities in MENA countries, supporting public health initiatives and contributing to the region’s healthcare modernization efforts.

Co-Diagnostics’ move into the MENA market through this JV aligns with broader trends of international diagnostics companies seeking strategic alliances to navigate complex regulatory frameworks and localize production.

The company’s patented platform and upcoming Co-Dx™ PCR point-of-care system position it to compete effectively in a market with increasing demand for rapid, accurate molecular diagnostics.

This partnership marks a pivotal expansion phase for Co-Diagnostics, potentially setting a precedent for similar collaborations in other emerging markets.

The JV’s success will be closely watched by industry stakeholders as an example of cross-border cooperation in medical technology innovation and commercialization.
