Decoy Therapeutics Broadens Patent Portfolio Across Seven Countries for Multi-Antiviral Innovations

Decoy Therapeutics Inc. (Nasdaq: DCOY), a biotechnology firm pioneering Designable Multi-Antivirals (D-MAVs™), revealed on August 3, 2026, that its intellectual property portfolio has expanded to include seven patent families. This portfolio now consists of one granted U.S. patent and 19 pending patent applications filed across seven jurisdictions: the United States, Australia, Canada, China, Europe, Japan, and New Zealand. All patents and applications are solely owned by Decoy Therapeutics.

The portfolio covers a broad range of innovations, including antiviral peptide conjugate compositions, automated flow manufacturing methods, linker chemistries, formulations, engineered D-MAVs targeting conserved class I viral fusion proteins, and methods for designing class I fusion peptides integral to the IMP³ACT platform.

Rick Pierce, Chief Executive Officer of Decoy Therapeutics, emphasized the growth of the company’s IP alongside its scientific progress. He stated, "The early filings protected our first conjugates. The newer families protect the engineered sequences our platform now designs, the methods we use to make them, and the platform itself. That progression is one of the clearest external records of how far the technology has come."

The sole granted patent, U.S. Patent No. 12,226,474 titled "Methods and Compositions for Treating Infections," claims antiviral peptide conjugates composed of one or more viral spike protein sequences that include D-amino acids.

Among the pending applications, the "Methods for Making Peptide Conjugates and the Product Made Therefrom" family is the most broadly filed, with submissions pending in six jurisdictions outside the United States. This family focuses on automated flow peptide synthesis methods and linker chemistries applied to Decoy’s antiviral peptide conjugates.

Another key patent family, "New Antiviral Therapeutic Peptides, Conjugates and Methods of Use Thereof," targets compounds engineered against conserved features of class I viral fusion proteins, extending beyond wild-type peptide sequences. Companion filings address formulations containing these conjugates and their use in interrupting transmission of multiple paramyxoviruses, including measles, mumps, human parainfluenza virus, and Nipah virus.

Decoy’s latest filing, submitted in June 2026 and not yet published, is titled "Method of Designing New Class I Fusion Peptides and Therapeutics Made Thereof." This application protects the design methods underlying the IMP³ACT platform, which combines AI-enabled design with rapid synthesis to develop peptide antivirals.

Decoy Therapeutics aims to develop a new category of antivirals engineered to target shared viral mechanisms, enabling a single adaptable drug to act against multiple viruses. The IMP³ACT platform supports this goal by facilitating the design and rapid production of peptide antivirals intended to accelerate clinical development and broaden viral prevention and treatment options.

The company’s lead candidates focus on respiratory viruses, addressing significant health and societal challenges posed by viral diseases.

Market reactions to Decoy’s announcements have been mixed, with share price changes ranging from a decrease of 25.79% to an increase of 73.79% following various news events. The company’s pre-clinical status remains a key risk factor for investors to monitor.

This press release includes forward-looking statements subject to risks and uncertainties, including the possibility that pending patent applications may not be granted and challenges related to financing and product development. Investors are advised to review Decoy’s filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for detailed risk disclosures.

Decoy Therapeutics continues to strengthen its intellectual property position as it advances its innovative antiviral platform toward clinical application, reflecting ongoing progress in the biotechnology sector’s fight against viral infections.
