The UK Intellectual Property Office (IPO) has maintained a dynamic senior management structure, with several updates to its leadership roles and directorate responsibilities documented between November 2022 and June 2026. These changes are reflected in the IPO’s official organizational chart, which outlines the structure of the senior management team and their areas of oversight.
On 1 November 2022, the IPO appointed Natasha Chick as Interim Transformation Director, alongside Kara Lofthouse as Interim Divisional Director of Trade Marks and Designs. These appointments marked the beginning of a series of leadership adjustments within the office.
Subsequently, on 23 January 2023, Oliver Morris was added as Interim Divisional Director of Trade Marks and Designs, indicating a transition in that role. Later, on 14 August 2023, Ben Jones-Llewellyn joined the IPO as Director of Business and International Policy, further strengthening the office’s leadership in these critical areas.
In early 2024, the IPO continued to update its structure. On 2 February 2024, Steph Dales was appointed Interim Director of Strategy, adding to the strategic leadership capacity of the office. By 5 April 2024, the organizational chart was revised to include Simon Haikney, Julyan Elbro, Oliver Morris, and James Porter, reflecting their respective leadership roles.
Later that year, on 5 December 2024, Lorna Dukes was added as Interim Director of Business and International Policy, indicating ongoing transitions within that directorate.
In mid-2025, Natasha Chick was appointed Director of Business and International Policy on 20 June, formalizing her leadership role in that area. This appointment was followed by a further update on 23 June 2026, when Simon Haikney was designated Divisional Director and Service Owner of Manage Services and Transformation, and Natasha Chick’s role was updated to Director of Enforcement, Business and International Policy.
These updates demonstrate the IPO’s commitment to maintaining a responsive and well-structured leadership team to oversee its diverse functions, including trademarks, designs, enforcement, business policy, international policy, strategy, and transformation services.
