USPTO Reschedules IT and Innovation Webinar Featuring CIO Leadership

The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has officially postponed its scheduled 'USPTO Hour' webinar focused on IT and innovation, initially planned for Wednesday, May 6, from noon to 1 p.m. ET. The agency expressed regret for the inconvenience and committed to sharing information regarding the rescheduling as soon as possible.

This webinar is organized by the USPTO's Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), which is spearheading significant initiatives to modernize and secure the agency's IT infrastructure. The OCIO teams are also actively integrating automation and artificial intelligence technologies to improve operational efficiency in support of the USPTO’s mission.

The event was set to feature presentations from Debbie Stephens, the Acting Chief Information Officer, alongside other senior leaders. They were expected to discuss how their teams utilize cutting-edge technology to better serve the American public.

In addition to the presentations, the webinar was to include a live question-and-answer segment, allowing participants to engage directly with USPTO executives. Attendees were invited to submit questions in advance or during the session via the dedicated email address USPTOHour@uspto.gov.

The USPTO also emphasized its commitment to accessibility, inviting individuals with disabilities to request reasonable accommodations by contacting the provided email.

The postponement notice was posted on the USPTO’s official government website, which assures users of secure connections and the protection of sensitive information.

The agency has not yet announced a new date for the webinar but has pledged to provide updates promptly. Stakeholders interested in the USPTO’s IT modernization and AI initiatives are encouraged to monitor official channels for forthcoming details.

This postponement reflects the USPTO’s ongoing efforts to engage transparently with the public about its technological advancements while ensuring optimal event delivery and accessibility.
