USPTO Schedules Final PTAB Listening Session on Board Administration and Reform

The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has issued a reminder to register for the third and final session of its spring Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) listening series, entitled “PTAB Administration and Reform.” This concluding session is scheduled for Monday, May 18, 2026, from 3 to 5 p.m. Eastern Time. It will take place in the Clara Barton Auditorium at the USPTO headquarters located in Alexandria, Virginia.

Access to the USPTO facility requires attendees to present a U.S. government-issued REAL ID, so participants are advised to prepare accordingly to ensure smooth entry. The session will feature two expert panels, each moderated by USPTO officials, who will engage in discussions centered on the administration of the PTAB.

Notably, the event will not accommodate live questions from the audience during the session. Instead, the USPTO encourages interested parties to submit their questions in advance via email to OUSEvents@uspto.gov for consideration by the panelists.

Details regarding the panelists and the session schedule are expected to be announced the week prior to the event. These updates will be made available on the PTAB Administration and Reform event page on the USPTO website.

The USPTO also cautions recipients that email server security software may interfere with accessing embedded links in communications. To prevent this, IT administrators are advised to whitelist the domains links-1.govdelivery.com and links-2.govdelivery.com.

For ongoing updates and information from the USPTO, stakeholders are invited to subscribe to regular email notifications through the USPTO subscription center at www.uspto.gov/subscribe, where they can also manage their email preferences.
