USPTO to Host Webinar Celebrating 250 Years of American Innovation

The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) announced it will host a special online event on Wednesday, June 24, from noon to 1 p.m. Eastern Time, to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States. The webinar, part of the USPTO Hour series, is jointly hosted by the Office of the Under Secretary and Director and the Office of the Chief Communications Officer.

The event commemorates the nation’s founding in 1776, when the Declaration of Independence established the inalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Over the past two and a half centuries, American innovators have contributed to making the world safer, advancing technology, and fostering prosperity nationwide.

In recognition of this milestone, the USPTO will share stories of inventors and entrepreneurs whose work has left a lasting impact on American society. The webinar will also feature a special preview of the USPTO’s short documentary titled “Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Innovation,” which explores the connection between innovation and the nation’s foundational ideals.

Participants are encouraged to register in advance to attend the webinar and may submit questions or suggest topics for future USPTO Hours by emailing USPTOHour@uspto.gov.

The USPTO also advises recipients experiencing difficulties accessing links in the event communications to consult their IT or email administrators to allow-list specific government delivery domains to ensure full access.

This event underscores the USPTO’s commitment to celebrating the legacy of American innovation and inspiring future generations to contribute to the nation’s technological and economic advancement.
