Vietnam takes resolute action against IP right violations, says spokesperson

Replying to a reporter's question about Vietnam's reaction to the United States designating Vietnam a "Priority Foreign Country" in its annual report on global intellectual property protection and enforcement, spokesperson Hang said that in recent years, Vietnam has made substantial efforts to protect intellectual property, including improving its legal framework, raising public awareness, and strengthening international cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the US, and many other countries.

Vietnam called on the United States provide an objective and balanced assessment of Vietnam's efforts and achievements in intellectual property protection, Hang said. Vietnam is cooperating very actively and effectively with the United States in this area, is ready to share information, and clarify Vietnam's policies and regulations.

Both sides need to continue to coordinate closely to adequately address differences for the benefit of both countries and towards building a stable, balanced, and sustainable economic and trade cooperation framework, the spokesperson said.
