Xeris Biopharma announced an 81% increase in revenue from its drug Recorlev during the second quarter of 2026, reflecting strong patient demand and effective commercial strategies. Recorlev, indicated for endogenous Cushing’s syndrome, generated approximately $56.8 million in net revenue for the quarter, up from $31.4 million in the same period the previous year.
Overall, Xeris reported net product revenue of $91 million, marking a 34% increase year-over-year. Total revenue for the quarter rose 29% to $92.1 million, underscoring broad portfolio growth.
The company attributed this momentum primarily to heightened patient uptake of Recorlev. Strategic commercial investments made earlier in 2026 are beginning to yield results, with management projecting an even greater contribution in the latter half of the year.
In a key intellectual property development, Xeris received a Notice of Allowance from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for a new patent related to Keveyis, its treatment for primary periodic paralysis. Upon issuance, this patent is expected to extend Keveyis’ market exclusivity through at least 2039, reinforcing the company’s long-term competitive position.
Financial metrics also improved, with gross margin increasing to 86% from 82% year-over-year, driven mainly by a favorable product mix. Adjusted EBITDA rose by $6.7 million to $19.3 million compared to the prior year’s second quarter.
Following the strong first half, Xeris narrowed its full-year 2026 revenue guidance to a range of $385 million to $390 million.
Beyond commercial performance, Xeris continues to advance its development pipeline. Notably, XP-8121, a once-weekly subcutaneous levothyroxine candidate for hypothyroidism poised for Phase 3 trials, secured its second U.S. patent in July. The company anticipates initiating the Phase 3 trial later in 2026.
Commenting on the results, Xeris management stated, “The second quarter was another strong period for Xeris, with net product revenue growing 34% year-over-year, driven by Recorlev’s exceptional commercial momentum.”
They added, “Beyond our commercial execution, the second quarter also brought an important strategic milestone. We received a Notice of Allowance from the United States Patent and Trademark Office for a new Keveyis patent expected to extend intellectual property protection through at least 2039.”
These developments highlight Xeris’ dual focus on expanding market presence and securing robust patent protection to sustain long-term growth in specialized therapeutic areas.
