National Law University, Jodhpur (NLU Jodhpur), recognized as one of India’s premier law schools since its founding in 1999, has issued a call for submissions for Volume X, Issue II of its Journal of Intellectual Property Studies (JIPS). Located in the culturally rich city of Jodhpur, Rajasthan, the university continues to promote advanced legal scholarship and innovation.
The Journal of Intellectual Property Studies, launched in 2016, is a bi-annual, student-edited, peer-reviewed academic publication focusing on contemporary developments in intellectual property law and related disciplines. The journal’s ISSN is 2583-5297.
Addressing a notable gap in Indian legal scholarship, JIPS aims to foster robust discourse on intellectual property rights by providing a platform for policymakers, practitioners, and academics to exchange ideas. The journal actively encourages submissions from a broad spectrum of contributors, including academicians, legal practitioners, research scholars, and both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
The editorial board invites original, unpublished manuscripts for the forthcoming issue. Submissions may take the form of notes or articles and will undergo a stringent double-blind peer review process conducted by a Board of Peer Reviewers, overseen by faculty editors and supported by the student editorial team. The journal also benefits from the guidance of an esteemed Board of Advisors.
Committed to the principles of open access, JIPS publishes all accepted articles online, ensuring free and unrestricted access for readers and researchers globally.
Eligible manuscripts must focus on intellectual property law or related areas such as media and technology law. The journal accepts the following categories of submissions:
- Long Articles (6,000 to 10,000 words): These should offer comprehensive literature reviews and present novel perspectives with actionable recommendations.
- Essays (4,000 to 6,000 words): Essays provide shorter, more focused analyses on narrower topics within the journal’s scope.
- Case Comments (up to 5,000 words): These submissions critically analyze significant case law and must include an abstract of 150 to 200 words.
- Legislative Comments (1,000 to 3,000 words): These focus on recent legislative developments and also require an abstract of 150 to 200 words.
Prospective contributors are encouraged to consult the journal’s official website for detailed submission guidelines, editorial policies, and additional information about JIPS.
