Proteomics International Secures US Patent for Endometriosis Diagnostic Test Valid Through 2041

Proteomics International Laboratories (ASX:PIQ) has achieved a significant intellectual property milestone with the United States Patent and Trademark Office granting a patent for its proprietary PromarkerEndo endometriosis diagnostic blood test. The patent extends protection until March 2041, securing the company’s rights to its non-invasive diagnostic technology within the US healthcare market.

This regulatory development builds upon Proteomics International’s existing patent protections, including those secured in Japan, reinforcing the company’s global IP strategy. The newly granted US patent is expected to play a pivotal role in advancing the company’s commercialisation efforts and facilitating future licensing and international distribution agreements.

David Morris, CEO and Managing Director of Proteomics International, described the USPTO patent grant as "a major achievement and an important validation of the novelty and commercial potential of PromarkerEndo." He emphasized that this milestone underpins the company’s pathway towards broader market penetration and partnership opportunities.

The market responded positively to the announcement, with Proteomics International’s share price rising 22.58% to $0.19 immediately following the news. This surge reflects investor optimism about the company’s strengthened position in the competitive diagnostic testing landscape.

In addition to the patent news, Proteomics International recently relocated its registered office to the Harry Perkins Institute. This move aims to streamline the company’s precision diagnostics and bio-analytical laboratory operations, enhancing efficiency and supporting ongoing research and development activities.

Earlier operational updates in 2026 included the company seeking official stock exchange quotations for newly issued shares and notifying option holders of impending expiration dates, indicating active management of its capital structure.

The US patent grant is a cornerstone for Proteomics International’s commercialisation strategy, enabling the company to leverage its proprietary technology in the American healthcare market. It also positions the company to explore licensing deals and distribution partnerships internationally, expanding the reach of its PromarkerEndo diagnostic test.

Overall, the patent approval represents a critical step in validating and protecting Proteomics International’s innovative approach to diagnosing endometriosis, a condition that affects millions globally. The company’s strategic IP management and operational enhancements signal its commitment to growth and market leadership in precision diagnostics.
