Recce Pharmaceuticals Secures Eighth Family 4 Patent in Vietnam, Extending Protection Through 2041

Recce Pharmaceuticals (ASX:RCE), an Australian biotechnology company specializing in anti-infective therapies, has successfully secured its eighth Family 4 patent following formal approval by the Intellectual Property Office of Vietnam. This development marks a significant expansion of the company’s international intellectual property portfolio.

The newly granted patent in Vietnam extends Recce’s existing patent protections, which already cover major markets including Australia, China, and Canada. The patent specifically encompasses certain manufacturing preparation processes as well as multiple administration routes, such as oral and inhalation delivery methods.

According to the company, the patent claims pertain directly to its proprietary anti-infective compounds RECCE 327 and RECCE 529. These compounds are designed to address a broad spectrum of human medical conditions, notably including burn wounds and infections caused by drug-resistant bacteria.

The Vietnamese patent protection is set to expire in 2041, aligning with the company’s strategy to maintain long-term exclusivity for its core technologies across global markets.

Following the announcement of the patent grant, Recce Pharmaceuticals’ share price experienced a decline of 2.56%, closing at AUD 0.38.

This latest patent milestone reinforces Recce’s commitment to strengthening its intellectual property defenses internationally, which is critical for safeguarding its anti-infective portfolio and supporting future commercial opportunities.

The company’s expanding patent estate underpins its efforts to combat challenging infections and medical conditions through innovative therapeutic solutions.

Recce Pharmaceuticals continues to build on its intellectual property assets to secure competitive advantages in the global pharmaceutical landscape.

Investors and stakeholders will be closely monitoring the company’s progress as it advances its drug candidates through development and regulatory pathways.

The strategic patent coverage in Vietnam complements Recce’s broader IP framework, which includes protections in key jurisdictions that are vital for market access and commercialization.

This development highlights the importance of securing robust patent rights in emerging markets as part of a comprehensive global IP strategy.

Recce’s focus on anti-infective compounds addresses urgent healthcare needs, particularly in the context of rising antimicrobial resistance.

The company’s portfolio expansion through patent grants positions it to potentially deliver impactful medical treatments worldwide.

Recce Pharmaceuticals remains focused on leveraging its intellectual property to maximize the value of its innovative drug candidates.
