USPTO Hosts In-Person Events and Interactive Activities on Day Two of Invention-Con 2024

The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is hosting the second day of its annual Invention-Con 2024 conference exclusively in person on August 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at USPTO headquarters. This flagship event is designed to help inventors, makers, entrepreneurs, and small business owners deepen their understanding of intellectual property (IP) and access valuable resources.

Day two features an open house and resource fair where attendees can engage directly with patent and trademark subject matter experts from various USPTO offices and partner federal agencies. Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the USPTO’s Public Search Facility, gaining hands-on experience with patent and trademark databases and tools.

In addition to expert consultations, the event offers activities for all ages. The National Inventors Hall of Fame Museum will be open, providing an interactive gallery that highlights the stories of iconic innovators and their impact on the world. This museum experience aims to inspire the next generation of inventors by connecting them with the history of invention.

The National Crime Prevention Council returns to Invention-Con to host educational games and learning opportunities tailored for children, promoting consumer awareness and safety.

The Lemelson Center’s Spark!Lab team is also participating, leading STEM-focused, hands-on activities that encourage inventive creativity among children and families. Spark!Lab provides an interactive environment where attendees can explore the inventive process through engaging experiments and projects.

The first day of Invention-Con 2024 took place on August 16, offering both virtual and in-person sessions from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at USPTO headquarters. Those interested can visit the day one event page for more details and registration information.

The USPTO encourages participants to visit the Invention-Con 2024 program page to maximize their conference experience. Resources include information on assistance programs, federal agency partnerships, and on-demand educational videos to prepare attendees for the event.

For newcomers to intellectual property, the USPTO provides free informational resources to build foundational knowledge about patents, trademarks, and copyrights.

Invention-Con is the USPTO’s premier annual conference aimed at independent inventors, entrepreneurs, and small business owners who rely on protecting their creative works. The event is presented by the USPTO’s Innovation Outreach Division.

Individuals with disabilities seeking reasonable accommodations for participation are invited to contact the USPTO via email at inventioncon@uspto.gov.

For additional information or inquiries, attendees and interested parties may also reach out to the USPTO at the same email address. Past program recordings are available on the Invention-Con event series page for those who wish to revisit or catch up on previous sessions.
