Wort Intelligence Advances AI-Ready Patent Data to Boost Bio and Chemical Industry AI Applications

Wort Intelligence is strategically expanding its footprint in the industrial artificial intelligence (AI) market by capitalizing on patent-based "AI Ready Data," as competition in the AI sector pivots from developing large language models (LLMs) toward securing specialized data assets.

On June 23, Wort Intelligence announced plans to extend its AI-ready data offerings into the bio and chemical fields, targeting domain-specific AI markets. This initiative is designed to facilitate AI conversion (AX) processes in new drug and material research and development (R&D), as well as intellectual property (IP) management.

Yoon Jung-ho, CEO of Wort Intelligence, emphasized the importance of reducing AI hallucinations in bio and chemical sectors through the use of AI-ready data. He stated, "The goal is to create domain AI that works in actual R&D sites, such as searching for new drug candidates, predicting material properties, and analyzing reaction mechanisms."

Wort Intelligence is recognized as a leading company in constructing AI-ready data within the industrial IP domain. The firm processes and structures an extensive corpus of patent information—comprising 250 billion patent sentences and 1.6 billion patent drawings—from patents filed in 106 countries worldwide. This data is transformed into AI-friendly formats and serves as the foundational learning asset for Wort Intelligence’s proprietary patent-specific language model, PlutoLM.

Leveraging this comprehensive dataset, Wort Intelligence operates an AI research platform that integrates patents, standards, and litigation information into natural language formats. This platform supports corporate R&D activities and IP-AX initiatives, enabling more informed technology strategy and market analysis.

The company’s external achievements underscore its growing influence. On June 18, Wort Intelligence received the Global Innovator Prize at the "Nextrise 2026" event. Additionally, it joined the "IP-AX Supporters" program launched by the Ministry of Intellectual Property as a private business operator. In a further collaboration, Wort Intelligence signed a business agreement last month with AI model startup Trillion Labs to jointly develop a chemical-specific AI model.

CEO Yoon highlighted the increasing importance of AI-ready data, noting, "The more companies that use AI, the more important they are to AI-ready data with expertise and evidence. We will create an environment where patent-based intelligence becomes a key basis when companies establish technology strategies and analyze markets."

Wort Intelligence’s expansion into bio and chemical AI-ready data reflects a broader industry trend emphasizing the critical role of specialized, high-quality data in advancing AI applications beyond general language models. By focusing on patent data, the company aims to deliver actionable AI tools that directly support innovation and IP management in complex scientific domains.
