Apple Faces Another Lawsuit Over Alleged Copyright Infringement for AI Training

By Editorial Team

Apple is facing yet another legal battle as a new lawsuit has been filed in California federal court accusing the tech giant of using pirated copies of authors' works to train its artificial intelligence models. The lawsuit alleges that Apple's actions amount to copyright infringement and were done in an attempt to keep up with competitors.

The complaint was filed by one author against Apple in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. The lawsuit also involves Meta Platforms Inc., formerly known as Facebook.

The plaintiff's legal team, Cotchett Pitre, is representing the author in this class action lawsuit, which falls under the categories of intellectual property, corporate, and media & entertainment law.

This latest legal action adds to Apple's ongoing challenges in the legal arena and highlights the importance of intellectual property rights in the development and use of artificial intelligence technologies.
