Irish Patent Owner Sues Vertiv Clients Over Data Center Cooling

An Irish patent owner, Valtrus Innovations Ltd., has filed a lawsuit against Vertiv Corp.'s data center customers, alleging patent infringement related to the use of cooling equipment provided by the digital infrastructure company.

The lawsuit references Vertiv's May 2024 declaratory judgment claim, in which the data systems firm indicated it would be responsible for any judgments against its customers for infringing Valtrus's patents.

Netrality Properties LP, Lumen Technologies Inc., CoreSite LLC, NTT Global Data Centers Americas Inc., and Prime Data Centers LLC are specifically accused of infringing US Patent Nos. 6,854,287 and 6,868,682. The complaints were filed in the US District Court for the...
