Baker McKenzie, which has offices in more than 45 countries, emphasized that Martin’s rejoining reinforces the firm's strategic focus on providing clients with end-to-end IP services — from litigation and enforcement to licensing and portfolio strategy.
“Welcoming Mackenzie back is a major win for our firm and our clients,” said Colin Murray, Baker McKenzie's North America Chief Executive Officer. “She is not only a brilliant litigator but also a forward-thinking advisor who understands the evolving nature of intellectual property in today’s innovation economy.”
Martin's career has been defined by her representation of global clients in IP disputes before federal courts, the International Trade Commission (ITC), and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). Her areas of expertise include patent infringement litigation, trade secret misappropriation, and complex trademark cases — often involving billion-dollar portfolios or mission-critical technologies.
In addition to litigation, Martin is known for her proactive counsel to companies in developing strong IP strategies that align with their commercial goals. She advises startups, mid-market innovators, and multinational corporations on everything from patent prosecution and freedom-to-operate analyses to brand protection and cross-border licensing.
“I’m thrilled to return to Baker McKenzie and resume working alongside some of the most talented professionals in the IP world,” said Martin. “The firm’s global platform and collaborative culture allow me to provide clients with seamless, innovative solutions to their most complex IP challenges.”
Martin has received multiple accolades over the years, including recognition in Managing IP’s "IP Stars," World IP Review’s "Leaders Directory," and Chambers USA. Her return comes at a time when IP litigation is becoming more dynamic, with evolving threats posed by digital technologies, increased international enforcement challenges, and the growing role of artificial intelligence in IP creation and protection.
