The Federal Circuit recently upheld decisions by the Patent Trial and Appeal Board to invalidate claims across three streaming patents owned by WAG Acquisition LLC. The company had accused tech giants Google, Amazon, Netflix, and others of infringement in multiple cases.

The ruling by the Federal Circuit solidifies the victories for Google and Amazon in the intellectual property dispute over streaming technology.

WAG Acquisition LLC's patents in question were:

  • 9,742,824 - Streaming media delivery system
  • 9,762,636 - Streaming media delivery system
  • 9,729,594 - Streaming media delivery system

Law firms involved in the case included Cooley LLP, DLA Piper, Fenwick & West, and Liston Abramson. The companies accused of infringement were Amazon.com Inc., Google LLC, Hulu LLC, Netflix Inc., and The Walt Disney Co.

Government agencies overseeing the case were the Patent Trial and Appeal Board and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

This legal battle highlights the importance of protecting intellectual property rights in the fast-paced world of technology and streaming services.
