MOIP Supports Global IP Transactions in Advanced Industries

By Editorial Team

The Ministry of Intellectual Property (MOIP) has launched a program aimed at assisting Korean companies in exporting patented technologies to international markets. The initiative, which will run from March 9 to April 8, 2026, offers tailored brokerage services to facilitate the commercialization of patented technologies abroad.

One success story highlighted by MOIP involves a Korean company looking to enter the Chinese market with a patented technology related to the medicinal plant known for treating gout effectively. Through the program, the company was able to identify a local partner, receive comprehensive support, and secure a technology export deal valued at approximately 500 million won ($350,000).

Since its inception in 2025, the program has facilitated 26 patent technology transactions across eight countries, demonstrating its effectiveness in supporting Korean firms in global IP transactions.

Program Details

The MOIP program is divided into two categories:

  • Exporting Korean Intellectual Property: Companies seeking to sell patented technologies or enter overseas markets can benefit from services such as overseas market research and legal review. Financial assistance of up to 70 million won ($50,000) per company is available.
  • Introducing Overseas Intellectual Property: Designed for companies aiming to enhance their technological competitiveness by importing advanced patent technologies from foreign institutions. Eligible applicants include export-oriented small and mid-sized companies in advanced industries.

Interested companies can apply for the program during the specified recruitment period to leverage MOIP's support in navigating international IP transactions and expanding their global footprint.

For more information about the program and application details, visit the official Ministry of Intellectual Property website.
