Warner Music Group and artificial intelligence music generator Udio have reached a settlement regarding claims that Udio utilized copyrighted music to train its AI models. The two entities have also announced a collaboration to establish a licensed AI music service.
The settlement marks the end of a legal dispute between Warner Music Group and Udio, which had been embroiled in a copyright infringement lawsuit over the unauthorized use of music in the development of AI-generated compositions.
As part of the settlement, Udio has agreed to cease using copyrighted music in its AI models and will work with Warner Music Group to create a licensed AI music service that complies with copyright laws and regulations.
The terms of the settlement were not disclosed to the public, but both parties expressed satisfaction with the resolution of the dispute and their future collaboration in the music industry.
