Scheduled for July 9 at 12 PM ET, the free one-hour course is part of YBI’s Evolve Technology Program and will be conducted online to make it accessible to participants across the country. The session will be led by Camron Bagheri, a seasoned intellectual property attorney known for helping startups and creatives navigate the complexities of IP law.

YBI, recognized nationally as a hub for technology startups and small business support, is delivering this session in response to a growing demand for practical IP education among early-stage entrepreneurs. With the rise of digital products, AI-driven solutions, creative content, and product innovations, safeguarding intellectual property has never been more vital.

The crash course will demystify the four key pillars of intellectual property:

  • Patents – covering inventions and technical innovations
  • Trademarks – protecting brand names, logos, and slogans
  • Copyrights – focused on creative works like music, software, and designs
  • Trade Secrets – guarding confidential business practices and formulas

"Protecting intellectual property is often overlooked by first-time founders until it's too late," said Bagheri. "This course is designed to give them a fast, focused understanding of how to secure their innovations from the outset."

The program also promises to cover real-world case studies, common legal pitfalls, and simple strategies for early-stage IP protection — making it highly practical for busy entrepreneurs. Participants will gain clarity on what can and cannot be protected, when to file for protection, and how to avoid costly legal disputes down the line.

YBI’s Evolve Technology Program has a track record of supporting tech startups through mentoring, funding access, and business development services. This IP session complements its broader mission to accelerate scalable businesses and equip founders with the tools they need to thrive.
