GoDaddy Hit With $170M Verdict In Express Mobile Patent Suit

A Delaware federal jury recently ruled that website hosting platform GoDaddy must pay $170 million for willfully infringing on two Express Mobile patents related to website building.
The jury found that GoDaddy infringed on patents 6,546,397 and 7,594,168, which cover methods for creating websites through a browser-based tool and runtime engine.
Law firm Ballard Spahr, Devlin Law Firm PC, and Steptoe LLP represented the parties involved in the case.
GoDaddy Inc. and YouTube Inc. were the companies named in the lawsuit, which was heard at the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware.
