MoCI Launches 5 New Digital Intellectual Property Services
By Editorial Team
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has introduced five new electronic services in the intellectual property sector via its website, expanding the total online IP services to seven. This initiative is part of MoCI's continuous efforts to streamline processes, enhance service quality, and promote digital transformation.
The newly launched services include:
- Applying for a certificate of deposit and protection for copyright and related rights
- Requesting a “to whom it may concern” certificate
- Obtaining an extract of a copyright and related rights certificate
- Modifying an existing copyright application
- Requesting the transfer of ownership for a copyright deposit certificate
The MoCI specified that the beneficiaries of these copyright services encompass poets, researchers, novelists, screenwriters, composers, music arrangers, artists, designers, architects, and software and application developers. Related rights beneficiaries include performers like singers, actors, musicians, producers of sound recordings, and radio and television broadcasting organizations.
This move underscores the MoCI's commitment to fortifying the nation's intellectual property framework while expediting the digitalization of its services. It aligns with the ministry's overarching strategy to enhance government service delivery by fostering innovation, improving user experience, and implementing more efficient and flexible digital systems.
