USPTO to Host Virtual Panel on Initiating Intellectual Property Licensing

The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) announced a virtual panel discussion scheduled for Wednesday, May 27, from 1:00 to 1:55 p.m. Mountain Time (3:00 to 3:55 p.m. Eastern Time). The event, titled "Licensing your IP: The Why, When and How to get started," aims to educate participants on the strategic value of licensing intellectual property and the practical steps involved in initiating licensing agreements.

The panel will feature Sean Wilkerson, Acting Director of the USPTO's Northwest Frontier Community Engagement Office; Gillian Fenton, Executive Director of LST Strategies LLC and Co-Chair of the Education Committee of the Licensing Executives Society (LES) USA and Canada; and Robert Held, CEO of LES USA and Canada. These experts will share insights on why licensing can be a beneficial option for IP owners and how it can enhance business value.

This initiative is hosted by the USPTO's Northwest Frontier Community Engagement Office, reflecting the agency's commitment to providing educational resources to the IP community. The discussion will focus on helping inventors, entrepreneurs, and businesses understand the timing and methods for leveraging their intellectual property through licensing.
